Amanda LeCours

Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator (SpBCPE), Registered Nurse

Amanda started caring for people as a medic in the United States Air Force at the age of 18. After the Air Force, Amanda obtained a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers-Newark College of Nursing. After obtaining her nursing license, she moved across the Hudson River, back to her home state of New York, to begin her career as a nurse. Amanda initially worked as a Medical-Surgical nurse at a large teaching hospital in Manhattan, and after 1.5 years decided to switch to Labor and Delivery. After the switch, Amanda never looked back. Amanda currently works in the Labor and Delivery department at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY. Since the Summer of 2016, Amanda has been researching ways to bring her passion for physiologic birth to the bedside. Becoming a parent can feel like a daunting task, especially given the depictions and misconceptions advanced in the media. Amanda is passionate about educating birthing people not only about birth anatomy, but also regarding how to maintain autonomy and power in the birthing space, wherever they chose to meet their baby. Amanda is certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) and is a Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator.
