A Peek Inside Spinning Babies® Birth Preparation in 60 Minutes
This self-paced course is designed to bring practical, body-centered support into your daily rhythm. Here are a few core lessons that will help you build comfort, confidence, and connection through pregnancy and into birth:
Using Your Breath
Begin with breathwork. Practice techniques like Aware Breathing and Breathe to Your Baby to promote calm and connection.
The best way to welcome Aware Breathing into your pregnancy rhythm is by practicing for about fifteen minutes each day. Try weaving it into your morning or evening routine — just like brushing your teeth or making a cup of tea. If fifteen minutes feels out of reach, five minutes is still a gift to your nervous system. With each breath in and out, aim for a gentle rhythm of five seconds in each direction. This simple practice can ground you, connect you with your baby, and bring calm to your day, one breath at a time.
Daily Activities
Walk, stretch, and move through guided exercises that support alignment and ease throughout pregnancy. One of these gentle movements is pelvic tilts on all fours.
This simple, rhythmic movement, often known in yoga as Cat-Cow, helps release tension, hydrate the spine, and bring more ease to your day. In just a few minutes, you can support the connection between your upper and lower body, creating more space and flow along the spine, from the base of your skull to your tailbone.
You’ll move through nine slow, fluid tilts in a row. Let it feel like a gentle dance. Inhale as you lift your face and tailbone, exhale as you round and tuck, hugging your baby with your belly. It’s more than a stretch, it’s a way to connect with your body and your baby. Let your ribs and hips join in, and feel free to sigh or make sound as you move. Think of it as a moving meditation, creating space for comfort, breath, and balance.
The Three Balances℠
You will learn in detail about the Jiggle, Forward-leaning Inversion, and Side-lying Release, and how incorporating these techniques into your pregnancy helps restore balance and make space for baby.
One of these techniques that can be done daily beginning in the second trimester, is the Forward-leaning Inversion. This position helps lengthen supporting ligaments to align the uterus. With regular practice, it can bring more balance to your body by creating space in the lower uterus and easing areas of tension that might get in baby’s way.
You’ll want a spotter for support, and always move slowly. In the course, you’ll learn how to ease into the position safely, hang like an open A-frame for 30 seconds of nourishing breaths, before returning to upright with care.
When labor begins, the same movement can offer comfort and support progress—especially during pauses or plateaus. Using it through one or two contractions in early or active labor may help baby settle deeper or rotate more effectively. Just be sure to have a helper nearby to support you as you move into and out of the position.
Rest Smart℠
Learn how sitting, sleeping, and resting positions can support baby’s position and your own comfort.
One simple way to rest smart is by sitting with your hips higher than your knees. This gentle tilt encourages balance in the pelvis, softens tension, and helps guide baby into a more optimal position. Try sitting on a bolster with a cushion beneath your knees or use a properly inflated physio ball, placing your feet flat with your heels directly under your knees for stability.
This posture supports the pelvic floor and engages leg muscles, all while offering a calm, open space for both breath and baby. As you sit, take a few moments for Aware Breathing: inhale slowly for five seconds, then exhale for five seconds. Even rest can be a quiet form of alignment.
