I’m out on the web regularly to see what women are saying about Belly Mapping. Sometimes I find older posts. This one from Ann of Loxley on Mothering.com is fantastic. She wrote

Belly Mapping is a process of discovery. Its not always easy to tell kicks from wiggles or head from butt. Follow the clues and after a few attempts and sometimes needing help from a “skilled palpater” most babies will reveal themselves.
