Ashley comes from a family full of registered nurses, Nurse Practitioners, however, one of the matriarchs of her family was the home birth midwife on the beautiful island of Barbados. She grew up with great insight, understanding, responsibility, and pride in her role and profession. Ashley began her career as a pediatric primary care nurse after graduating from Pace University Lienhard School of Nursing in 2013. After about a year of gaining this experience, she transitioned to adult medicine and community health Nursing. Ashley’s ultimate goal was to become an obstetric nurse and in 2015 she did just that. Ashley relocated to New York city where she started her journey as a labor and delivery nurse at Mt.Sinai Hospital. In 2017 Ashley moved back home to Boston to work on the labor and delivery unit at one of Boston’s top institutions. Ashley assumed a position in the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic to seek greater knowledge and insight into the high risk perinatal population. Over the years she has identified changes in herself and the healthcare setting as a whole. She was forced to explore her feelings, ambitions, what these changes meant, and why she came into this profession in the first place. Throughout seeking where her passion aligned, years of gaining experience and navigating the healthcare system, Ashley hit a turning point, an “Ah Ha” moment. She realized that quality perinatal care, Movement and education is the “engine room” for an informed, dauntless pregnancy, birth and recovery. Ashley is Co-Owner of Birth Savvy LLC. , Full time Maternal Fetal Medicine Registered Nurse and continues to be on call on the Labor and delivery unit. Ashley is a Certified CPR/AED instructor, she is currently working toward becoming an Integrative Trauma Practitioner™, Holistic Birth & Pregnancy Practitioner™ and certified in perinatal mental health. Ashley’s aim is not only to support her clients’ physical needs but also to provide quality education and mental health support in the high-risk perinatal community. Ashley is a powerful communicator and advocate. She believes in the connection between mind and body, fostering inner strength, discernment, and tranquility. She provides holistic culturally competent and compassionate care for all birthing bodies. She believes in the privilege of knowledge, sovereignty, and preserving Birthing without fear.
