I am an Independent Midwife, founder of Midwives For All project, as well as collaborator with MaiaMou maternity center.
My journey towards midwifery begins back in 2005 where I started attending births as a birth partner in the UK, where I also offered pregnancy massage. I was then a BsC in Ecology student at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. My passion for nature led me to complete an LLM in Environmental Law in University of Newcastle in the UK and work in numerous conservation projects. However, my desire to dive deeper into the essence of natural and physical processes, led me to in 2014 I decided to study Midwifery in the largest Department in Greece, University of West Attica.
It is clear to me that respect should be the priority for midwifery and gynecological care today. In Greece the c-section rate is above 60%, while inductions are routine. My services therefore focus on individualized monitoring, evidence-based practices and a deep trust in the person’s perception of their body.
I love and attend homebirths. I specialize in pregnancy and post-partum massage and bodywork, which I believe to be essential for a balanced, comfortable and emotionally supported pre and postnatal period. I am also focused on sexual and reproductive health of the LGBTQI community, as I was an observer in Chicago Women’s Health Clinic in the US as part of an exchange.
I have three children and live in city center Athens.
