If you are reading this page, we will assume you are actively trying to get pregnant. But it may be that you had an intuitive experience letting you know you were pregnant before missing your first trimester.

Let’s begin with an intention to create a healthy body fully ready to receive and grow an already-loved baby! That may mean drinking pure water, skipping alcohol, and going to bed at a reasonable time.

The moment of fertilization occurs hours after sex or artificial insemination when the ripe egg receives the sperm. Chemical changes in the body begin to respond immediately. Pregnancy has begun, however conception occurs in the womb when the fertilized egg nestles into the fluffy, nutritious lining of the uterus. If there is no morula entering the womb, or the lining sheds before the body gets the embryo’s signal, the pregnancy won’t be established.

In the first two weeks after fertilization the two cells are rapidly dividing and creating vital foundations for human development.

The third week of pregnancy starts two weeks after the beginning of your last period. The ovum (egg) is ripe and fertilized. At the end of the third week of gestation, you have actually been pregnant for just one week.

To mark the weeks of pregnancy, we use the first day of your last period — not the date of ovulation, fertilization, sex, or insemination. This means that the measure for the first two weeks of pregnancy starts before you got pregnant! Talk about quantum thinking.
